Dear Family and Friends,
Fall, football and a fun Sunday afternoon at the STEP UP for Down syndrome walk are what we are looking forward to! We hope you will make plans to join us as we celebrate our son, Jack, and others who have Down syndrome and their families at the STEP UP for Down syndrome walk (formerly known as the Buddy Walk). This will be Jack's 5th walk (or in Jack's case "run" as he prefers to run at most times rather than walk...) and each year, the walk is more fun as we have more family and friends join us.
For those of you who do not see Jack as often, he has had a great year! He turned 4 on St. Patrick's Day, has started his second full year in the pre-school program at Farmington Elementary where he rides a school bus to and from school each day, and is playing soccer on a co-ed team at Hope Presbyterian Church this fall. Oh, and Abby is teaching him to tap dance! Jack is talking now just about as much as his big sisters - which is a lot! At home he is in charge of all recreational activities, including anything that has to do with a "ball", selecting DVDs for the family to watch and leading the family and guests in "marching formation" around our house. Don't be surprised if you stop by and quickly find yourself lining up to "march". We promise it's actually fun if you are not concerned about looking a little silly :)
So, join the "Jack be Nimble, Jack be Quick" team and come be a part of the largest disability awareness event in the Mid-South as we STEP UP for Down Syndrome on October 18th at Memphis Botanic Garden. STEP UP includes a one-mile walk that leads participants through the beautiful Memphis Botanic Garden. As you STEP UP you are showing the community that people with Down syndrome lead full and meaningful lives. Jack continues to amaze us each day with his desire to learn, his drive and his determination. We believe that Jack was wonderfully made and are thankful to God for his precious gift to us. While he may look a bit angelic in this picture...don't be fooled, he is a 100% wide-open little boy who would love to see you at the STEP UP walk!
We hope to see you on the 18th of October.
Gratefully,
Jimmy and Alyson Robinson
