STEP UP for Down Syndrome!
My name is DeAndrea Hickerson. I am sixteen years old and I am a Junior at Millington Central High School in Millington, Tennessee. Although I may have Down Syndrome I don't let it get me down. This is because I DREAM of a world where I am not judged by my appearance or by what I am or am not capable of doing in the eyes of others. I DREAM of a society that does not pity me but has patience with me because THIS LITTLE LIGHT OF MINE I'M GONNA LET IT SHINE because I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS ME.
With that in mind I would like to encourage you all to Step Up and show your support for individuals with Down Syndrome. With each and everyone of your support we can create a society where all people with Down Syndrome will be accepted, and be able to thrive and excel in our community. This is why I am asking you to Step up by Stepping Out on Sunday October 18 at the Memphis Botanic Gardens and join us for the S.U.D.S.(Step Up for Down Syndrome) Walk. Together we can make DeAndreas' Dreams come true as a team. So come show your support and be a part of DeAndreas' DreamTeam.
